Program Summary
This is a full-day online summit for addressing how to effectively engage with youth and their families. Situations as:
- Drug Use & Alcohol Use/Abuse
- Teen/Young Adult Parent
- LGBTQ, and
- Suicidal Ideation
can and do have a profound impact on the health and functioning of youth, their families and communities.
Attend these interactive, informative evidence based workshops to review assessment, and intervention approaches that are useful for working with youth. 3 expert presenters with work with you for these sessions, including a young adult (and now an expert and keynote speaker) who was a mother at the age of 13, youth suicide and criminal justice expert, a social worker who also struggled with their own family's challenges with drug use and addiction, and a professional who shares own experiences of staying in the closet while coming out at the same time! You WILL be in a position to leave these sessions with new knowledge, skills and national resources.
Attend this informative workshop to review and gain the knowledge and skills required to successfully plan and facilitate remote family team conferences. The workshop will address: Family Teaming: Best Practice Principles: in-person and remote, decision making points, required resources: technology and staffing, skills to plan and facilitate and ethics and confidentiality.

As resource parents, the first step in preventing suicide is identifying the warning signs for a youth living in 2021. Join us to take steps in assisting youth in your care. At the conclusion of this webinar, the participants will be in a position to:- Identify the most common adolescent suicide behavioral and situational warning signs.
- Link the current atmosphere of the COVID pandemic to the increase in a youth's risk of suicide.
- Respond to a youth displaying suicidal warning signs.
